چکیده

In this Letter, we investigate the correlation rate of a random sequence data set which is collected by RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) readers in an indoor location. Using a passive RFID tag introduces reading error, which causes a loss of original data. From the question of how sensing errors of RFID readers affect the location prediction algorithm used for context awareness services at home, we analyze the correlation rate of a collected data set with respect to RFID reader-sensing error rate. Through our analysis, we conclude that the prediction accuracy can be better or worse than the one of the original data streams according to the error rate. We suggest that the reader specification has to be satisfied by the error boundary which is found in this work for the tolerant location prediction. key words: RFID, location prediction, context awareness, correlation rate, sensing error

RFID Indoor Localization Algorithm Based on Adaptive Self- Correction

With the rapid development of wireless communication and embedded system, wireless positioning systems are paid more and more attention to. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) localization system is getting more important, due to its own advantages, such as no contact, non-line-of-sight nature, promising transmission range and cost-effectiveness. To improve the accuracy of active RFID indoor ...

Design of an Intelligent Location Identification Scheme Based On LANDMARC and BPNs

Radio frequency identification (RFID) applications have grown rapidly in many industries, especially in indoor location identification. The advantage of using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values as an indoor location measurement method is a cost-effective approach without installing extra hardware. Because the accuracy of many positioning schemes using RSSI values is limited by int...

Overview of RFID-Based Indoor Positioning Technology

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology was originally invented for military uses. From 1980s, commercial RFID products started to be available and they were mainly applied in areas of supply chains, transport, manufacturing, personnel access, animal tagging, toll collection etc. Nowadays, RFID has been recognised as an emerging technology for ubiquitous positioning (UP), especially in...

The Applicability of RFID for Indoor Localization

Although RFID has a relatively long history of more than 50 years in the field of wireless communications, only the last decade it has received a considerable attention for becoming a useful general purpose technology. Actually, RFID was initially developed as an automatic identification system consisting of two basic component types, a reader and a tag (Want, 2006). The reader is able to read ...
